Hi Everyone
We are looking forward to a very exciting PFT Conference starting February 13th.  For those of you arriving early, you are in luck because it is the 1 year anniversary of the Vancouver Olympics and Vancouver is celebrating!!!  Below is a list of activies that will be taking place on the weekend.  Hopefully you’ll have a chance to get out and take in some of the Olympic Spirit.  Please keep in mind that with the festivities, traffic and transit in the downtown core is going to be busier than normal.

Vancouver Olympic Anniversary Events in February

  • CIBC LunarFest February 3 - 13, 2011
    The free 10-day festival includes a Lantern Processional, an elaborate Lantern Aquarium in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, concerts and more. www.lunarfest.org
  • Illuminate Yaletown February 11 - 12, 2011
    Illuminate Yaletown first lit up the neighbourhood during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games; this year's free two-day event is an entertainment-filled street party featuring spectacular light installations from local artists.http://yaletowninfo.com/events/illuminate/
  • Olympics Celebration at Robson Square February 12, 2011
    During the Olympics, Robson Square was always packed with revelers and this year should be no different. Along with the free ice skating, there will be music and live entertainment all day, plus a chance to meet Canuck's Mascot Fin and Canadian 2010 Olympians.  **ice skating is free until February 28th
  • Free Admission to the Vancouver Art Gallery February 12, 2011, from 10am - 5pm
    See the work of famous Vancouver artist Ken Lum at the VAG for free!
  • Centre Ice on Granville February 12, 2011, 12pm - 9pm
    Granville Street will close between Smithe and Dunsmuir for an Olympic street party that includes street hockey, buskers and the LunarFest Procession.
  • Lighting of the Olympic Cauldron February 12, 2011, at 4pm
    Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games torchbearers, VANOC volunteers and the public will come together for the first anniversary of the official lighting of the Olympic Cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza at theVancouver Convention Centre.
